Do you really need a bookkeeper?

If you are a sole trader or a small business start-up you may be questioning whether you may need a bookkeeper, or just do it yourself to cut costs?

The answer is that it is entirely up to you!

Anyone is capable of doing their own books, and I would be happy to help you with advice on getting started.

Reasons why you may decide to employ a bookkeeper like myself;

Saves you time - bookkeeping is time-consuming. As with a lot of things, you have to decide what is worth your time, and what is best to pass on to someone else - freeing you up to work on your business.

Saves you money - my goal is always to try and save you money wherever I can. There is a lot to know and remember when it comes to submitting your tax return, for example, and it may be the case that I know where you can make savings each year.

It's confusing - it is, I sometimes wonder if HMRC do it on purpose. There isn't much more frustrating that trying to make sense of, or get a straight answer from the government. Why not employ me to get frustrated on your behalf? Save you a few grey hairs.

Keep on top of your finances - I am happy to offer a more broad type of financial planning whereby I can keep an eye on your financial affairs on a regular basis so that you can receive regular reports on how your business is doing month by month.

I offer a variety of services whereby I can offer basic help and advice with the aim of you doing everything yourself from start to finsh. Alternatively you can keep your own records but I submit your tax return for a one-time annual fee. Or the most popular option amongst busy people is; I can do it all - just hand over your documents and I'll sort everything for you.
